Job Specific role description
The Data and Service Delivery Governance Branch within DFAT's Information Management and Technology Division has a requirement for multiple ICT Portfolio, Programme and Project Support Officers to support delivery, management and governance of various ICT projects. Duties are diverse and will include engagement with multiple divisions across DFAT to support the delivery of various projects.
Key duties and responsibilities
Project Support Officers support the Programme Manager in the day-to-day management of a range of projects ranging in complexity and size. They are required to undertake work that is complex in nature, work under limited direction with the opportunity for reasonable autonomy and accountability. Resources at this level exercise both initiative and judgment in the interpretation of policy, provide detailed technical, professional, and/or policy advice in relation to complex problems and may assist in strategic planning, program and project management and policy development. They are required to liaise with a range of stakeholders in a representational role. Work may involve management responsibilities requiring the setting of priorities and managing workflows.
About the Project
The ICT Portfolio Management Office (PMO) is the competency centre for all Project and Programme Managers, along with project and portfolio support officers working across the Information Management & Technology Division.? The section runs a distributed model where Community of Practice, governance, procurement for professional services, and pastoral care for individuals in the professional discipline are managed centrally.? Individuals however are typically outposted to projects and usually work as part of an integrated project team to deliver project outcomes for assigned projects.
Technical skills
It is desirable for applicants to have complementary or extension certifications in Project Management, PRINCE2, PMBOK, Agile, Risk Management, Benefits Management, DMBOK or equivalent industry certification.
